This test was part of the interview process for VRP in Plano Texas. I wanted to upload this to my portfolio for other possible jobs to provide a sense of color theory, layout design, and CSS front end coding. Below you can read the instructions that was provided by VRP!!
Part 1 – Choose The Colors
Part 1 is located in the Design Files Folders as Color-Test.PSD. In this file there are different folder layers. Each block of colors has a square white block. Please change the white block layer in each folder to the color you think best goes with the respective colors for each layer. Save as a jpg.
Part 2 – Modify/Improve Landing Page
For Part 2 please first install the fonts located in the Design Assets Folder. Once the fonts have been installed please open the Designer-Test.psd in the Design Files Folder. Once you have opened the file the file it is yours to improve. Essentially we are looking to see what you would do to improve the design. Nothing is off limits. Once you have made the changes to the PSD please save as a jpg.
Part 3 – Improve The Code
The goal of this exercise is to take any possible styling and put it into the CSS file. For example, if you received this from a client, what would you do to make it more in line with how it should be coded? Feel free to edit the HTML and CSS. The goal is to not make it pretty but to ensure the code is written correctly.
